Actually anime series length are broken down into 13 episode seasons.
If a series is only 13 eps long, it only last one season; 26 eps, two seasons
etc.
Episodes are shown weekly, so a 51 ep series, lasts for a whole year.
I personally prefer anime that don't go past the four season mark (51 eps)
Like FMA and the Gundam Seed series. 9 times out of 10, any series that goes
beyond four seasons ends up going heck into filler.
Which is why I'm very disapointed in Bleach at the moment.
Mind you I'm 10 eps behind, but it's dived knee deep into filler. Can I say 'Not
happy Jan'
Through looking back at the anime series I've watched and loved over the years,
I prefer the short series, of the 13 and 26 ep variety.
The production values are usually alot higher (because less episodes = more
money to spend) and the creators are usually alot more experimental and daring,
resulting in a much better series.
I've got an old school mono ringtone (my phone is old)
At the moment I've got Shizukana Yoruni from Gundam Seed, before that I had Eden
from Yami no Matsuri. When I get my new phone soon it'll have mp3 ringtones, so
I've got over 6,000 anime/japanese music to choose from then... but I was
planning on using the Victory Music from Final Fantasy X
Ah yes, Eva was my first anime and my first manga... memories.
Quote by EvoIIICE9AI bought my first
manga in Sydney (where I was on holiday) the two stores I found were near Taco
Bell and an arcade that had Initial D Arcade Stage Version 2 in the city. So if
that wasnt the ones you found at least you know where more are now
hehehe
That would be Kings Comics yes? Kinokuniya just up the road is cheaper (plus
they offer a 10% discount card) but they often don't get series in as fast as KC
does.
Man... I'm so glad I'm older and have money. Nothing like having your own TV,
DVD player, Playstation and Computer in your room.
My parents don't know or see any of the anime I watch now. Been that way for
years now.
I agree, the anime of Yami was too rushed and left way too much out.
Basically in comparsion to the manga, the anime only covers volume 1,2,3 and 7
and 8 and there's 11 volumes of manga released.
I'm incredibly conflicted when it comes to this anime. I read the manga first,
(now it's my no 1 favourite manga) then watched the anime.
Maybe I was expecting too much but I throught the production values of it (ie:
animation, anime character design etc) weren't the greatest like say another JC
Staff anime (Utena, Loveless.... etc) but I love the story and the characters
way too much to truly dislike the anime.
I heard that the manga has been licensed... can't remember by who but the first
volume should be out in English by the end of the year.
I haven't seen the anime or read the manga, yet I want too. Alas I can't find
the anime anywhere to buy... even bootlegged. It's a conspiracy, against me
seeing this anime
Yeah is it all updated now ?
Because I'm trying to upload a new sig too and it's not working. No matter how
many times I'm trying it won't change, and my old sig just won't go away. It's
driving me bonkers.
This is the message I'm getting at the top of the page everytime I try to upload
the new sig.

I throught since uploading in the gallery was fixed, that MT was completly back
to normal... or are there still a few issues left.
Believe me I'm thrilled Kotani Kinya is singing the opening.
The fangirl in me is going to be squeelling when I first hear it.
oooooo intersting trivia. Kotani Kinya is friends with Nanase Ohkawa's sister.
How's that for connections ^^
I've all ready managed to snag the ending theme Loop on Mp3 (which I love to
pieces) and I've been searching the net for Blaze as a Mp3 with no luck yet.
Loop btw can be downloaded from here: http://www.tokyojupiter.com/tsubasa/anime-info.html
My guess is that they are not going to release the opening theme until the
series actually starts on April 9th.... for Loop all ready has a CD single promo
website, but Blaze doesn't.
I'm guessing they want to keep it a suprise for the big premire.
I'm quite a big Clamp fan.... not as much as I used to be, but I have nearly
virtually read all of their manga. So my list is
1. Tokyo Babylon
"Best manga in terms of storytelling and character development, it's got a
lovely mysterious and dark atmopshere to it and the trio of Subaru, Hokuto and
Seishirou, are some of the most three dimensional, well developed and loveable
character Clamp has ever created."
2. X
"Very similar to Tokyo Babylon, beautiful artwork and a wonderful dark and
epic story, only downside for it is the fact it's got way to many characters to
ever develop them all properly."
3. Card Captor Sakura
"Clearly Clamp's best manga from their "light and fluffy" genre.
CCS is a wonderful blend of everything Clamp's so well known for. Even
underneath all the fluff, this series still has their trademark: Angst (without
it getting to headache inducing levels like X is)
It's just a great story with great characters, despite being a Mahou Shoujo
series"
And that's it...... those three are really the only three Clamp works that I
really think are their best... the next two are just ones I like personally, but
don't think they are inceriably not worthy.
1. Yami no Matsuei. (Love the story, the bisshies, Inu Tsuzuki ^^, the angst,
the shounen ai, the perverted Muraki and the art... nuff said)
2. Gravitation. (Again, love the story, Yuki ^^, the characters, the humourr,
the shounen-ai/yaoi and the plain insanity of most of the cast.)
3. Angel Sanctuary (Love the dark story, the angst, the destruction, the art,
the angels and the devils, all the wings and feathers, Kira ^^, and did I
mention the art ^_^
Quote by Nerikomy names Samantha! But my
friends call me Sammy!^_^C Ya,Sammy
Same here..... ^_^
My real name is Samantha too. All through everyone calls me Sam, my friends, my
family, people at work. Guess people can't be bothered writing or saying such a
long name. (8 letters) I was called Sammy Sparrow when I was in pre-school,
Sammy Lee by my friends in Highschool and now my Sister calls me Sambo. ^^
Not that I really mind. I'm used to being called Sam now.
My middle name is Naomi through. I really like that name, too bad it's not my
first name.
I can't wait for this.... and this is coming from someone that up til not long
ago, kind of disliked the manga. The manga is really starting to grow on me,
after I've removed myself from thinking about the characters as their original
selves. It's an alternative reality, so therefore I think they are doing the
right thing by getting new voice actors in.
I wonder who's going to play Mokona through... since in Rayearth all Mokona said
was "pu!" but in Tsubasa Mokona talks all the time.
Oh and yeah, I also heard that the opening song is being sung by Kotani Kinya
and the end by Maaya Sakamoto. Yay.... two of my favourite singers too.
I'm going to be trying my hardest too get this as soon as it comes out.
That's not the same sileighty. That's W Wish.... we are talking about Wish by
Clamp, it's only a four volume manga and a music video.
Anyway...
Quote by Shkira Have you also seen the
Clamp in Wonderland AMV? Ranks up there with the random Clamp AMV. Starts out
with Kamui (looking cute and bish) chasing around Mokona and running into the RG
Veda gang. Everyone's in it from their early works, it's so fun!
=^_^=
Oh yes.... I love that vid. My favourite part through is when Hokuto hits
Sei-chan over the head with a giantic mallet
Oh and did you know that Nanase Ohkawa (Clamp's main writer) actually sings the
song in the video too.
Anyway, Wish, like alot of Clamp's lesser know, older manga... will most likely
never get a proper anime done for it. As will Clover, Tokyo Babylon, RG Veda, or
Shin Shun Kaden.
All through one can always hope.
At the moment anyway, Clamp are too busy concertating on the upcoming Tsubasa
anime.
Seems to me that only men can be pervets.... all through I might of come across
one, very minor female pervet. Shuichi's sister from Gravitation is quite.... um
perveted. She's always thinking of, naughty things concerning her brother and
his male friends.
She's only in the manga through
And how about a different kind of pervet? Muraki from Yami no Matsuei is
probably one of the most sick, twisted and perveted doctors in any anime I've
seen. You should see some of the things he does to Tsuzuki. A very hands on
pervet he is
I think it's just a single book, I don't think Clamp ever finished it..... or
never intended to finish it cause the ending is too wide open in my opinion.
I've got that manga too.... I would really like to read more of that story.
Most of the friends I've had haven't been Anime fans... and most of them never
really knew I liked anime as much as I did either. I kept it virtually all
secret mostly through out highschool. I had my sister as an anime fan at the
time so I always had someone to fangirl with up until she stopped liking it.
When I left highschool, and lost contact with all my friends I still kept it
hidden and particullary to myself... But eventually, after 5 years of being a
fan, I decided to meet up with someone from online to go to my first anime
convention with, I lost them by the end of the day, but ran into an old
highschool friend and her best friend who were both anime fans, so yeah, I can
finally say that my friends like anime... so I don't have to hide anymore. It's
a great feeling.
We're the three scary fangirls we are
My partners in the conspiracy
They also constantly borrow all my anime and manga too.
My collection to them is like their own personal library. ^_^
I really want to see this series, it sounds so interesting. For sure I'll be one
of the first ones buying it when it comes out.
When I heard the word violence and anime the first thing that comes to mind is
always End of Evangelion.
Especially the scenes with the jssdf attacking NERV and of course, Asuka's scene
with the Eva series.
They have a pretty decent selection of anime (I've gotten Angel Sanctuary,
Miyuki-chan in Wonderland and Please Save My Earth from them) and are pretty
fast and willing to ship anywhere, even all the way too Australia (where I
live)
I don't think this is a thread that's been done before, so sorry if it has.
I've seen many threads about what Anime people have, what about manga?
My manga collection is actually bigger than my DVD one.
The list:
Angel Sanctuary
Angelic Layer
Ayashi No Ceres
Card Captor Sakura
Chobits
Clover
DNAngel
Gravitation
Gohou Drug
Hellsing
Magic Knight Rayearth
Miyuki-chan in Wonderland
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Please Save my Earth
RG Veda
Rurouni Kenshin
Saikano
Shirahime Syo
Tokyo Babylon
Tsubasa
Wish
X
Yami No Matsuei
most of them are complete (or very close too) series too.
Just interested how many avid manga collecters we have on MT.
Quote by Vetus
Wow! That's something new to me. I have only seen the first anime episode of
Gravitation.
Read the manga my friend, even through nothing really graphic is ever shown, you
see a lot of before and then after shots of it. And alot of talking about it
too.
Trust me, the anime shows none of it. It's all cleverly editted out, and never
really talked about. Which is no real suprise really, since it is an anime that
was made for TV.
Quote by AceGunmanWow, some of you have
like 2x or 3x even my collection. I see theres still a long way for me to go
Woooooaaaah, now thats a DVD collection Over
100 you say? Where do you get the room to store it all?
8P
I don't have the room that's the problem
It's all crammed on the one shelf, which is about 1 and a half metres with two
shelves.
I've had to restort to stacking the manga on top of the DVDs, and vice versa.
Not too mention the DVD's have gotta also compete for space with my Manga
collection, which is even bigger than my DVD collection. I've got about 150
manga. Last time I counted, which was a long time ago.
And it's true about collections starting off small.
This time last year I only had 3 DVDs. And this time two years ago and entire
anime and manga collection could fit into a small box.
I always liked Asuka much better, she's more intersting, with her childhood and
screwed up pyschological issues, plus she actually HAS a PERSONALITY.
Rei is about as interesting as watching grass grow. The only interesting thing
about her is her orgin, and her purpose. (most you probably all know that but I
still won't spoil.)
Sure she's all "quite and mysterious" but seriously, if I was a guy I
would probably fall asleep.
Sorry Rei fans
Through I gotta admit, Rei does have pretty cool hair.
I'm so guilty of this
The first anime I ever saw (Evangelion) I rewatched so many times the tapes
almost wore out. I've lost count how many times I've seen it... sometimes I
don't even want to try to remember how many times, it's just too scary.
When I got my DVD player I took to rewatching certain anime, over and over
again.
The first one after Evangelion, and after 3 years was X TV. Again, I can't count
how many times, but I haven't watched it again in 6 months.
The second one after that was Haibane Renmei, again, way too many times I've
watched it.
Currently the series I've been rewatching the most would be Yami no Matsuei and
Gravitation.... not too hard since both series are only 13eps each. The first
time I watched them I watched the entire series in one day, I have horrible
patience when it comes to series I really want to see
Yami I think I've seen about 7 or so times, and Gravi only about 2 times so
far... but then again, I 've only had Gravi for 4 days now.

4.5 conflicted stars from me.
I hate Harem anime and manga with a passion.
I find them degrading, plotless, stupid, pointless and full of crap.
But of course I'm a girl.
